SFRSA sponsored Mark Tilden, Robotics Physicist, Los Alamos National Laboratory, to gave a public talk on his robots as both functioning creatures as well as pieces of art. Video of current research into "living" robot systems was shown . 

Mark is currently a senior scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory (where he studies nervous-network control applications for real-world robotics), founder of the International BEAM Robot Olympic Games & has been featured in National Geographic.
